1. Who are you and what do you do?
I am Anita Wexler, a painter, illustrator and sculptor.

2. Why art?
Art entered my life when I was very young and continued with me throughout my life.

3. What is your earliest memory of wanting to be an artist?
Around 8 years old.

4. What are your favorite subject(s) and media(s)?
I use acrylic paint the most; lots of colorful artwork usually figurative paintings.

5. How do you work and approach your subject?
Most of my artwork is based on my life experiences.

 

 

 

6. What are your favorite art work(s), artist(s)?
Any painting by Hieronymus Bosch and Frida Kahlo.

7. What are the best responses you have had to your work?
People, who look beyond the color and truly see the symbolism and the messages within my work.

8. What do you like about your work?
I like that my artwork expresses a piece of me, a moment, emotions, fantasies or my reality.

 

 

 

9. What advice would you give to other artists?
Never give up; do what you love!

10. Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years?
I want to show in museums, and have an art agent.  I want to create large scale sculptures, as well as, see my artwork on everyday items so that it can be seen by the masses.
